Born in Uganda and raised in Nigeria, Emma's lifelong love of Africa led her from Fleet Street communications and global WPP projects into a life curating Moroccan treasures. As founder of Sahara Camp Adounia, she envisioned a desert oasis where heritage craft, luxury and immersive experience converge.
For over two decades she has sourced rare pieces directly from Amazigh communities in the Middle and High Atlas Mountains — introducing vintage Beni Ourain rugs to the world long before they graced global design spaces.
Having lived in Marrakech for 21 years, Emma's design expertise extends to full interiors, most notably the complete transformation of Riad Zamzam — weaving traditional textiles, architecture and bespoke furnishings into a single, elegant narrative.

A rare blend of Amazigh and Sahrawi heritage, Samir joined Emma when Sahara Camp Adounia was founded, becoming the artisan and engineer who brings her vision to life — the first person on site to assess placement and configuration of every tent, sun sail and structural installation.
Born in M'hamid, the “last desert town of the Sahara,” he carries deep cultural knowledge and desert expertise, fluent in Arabic, English, Berber, Tamashek and Hassani — blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Working seamlessly with Emma, Samir transforms vision into reality — together, curation meets production, and design meets execution.
