History & Culture
  • Origin: Tuareg mats have a rich history dating back centuries. They originated in the Sahara Desert, where they were used by nomadic Tuareg tribes for shelter, warmth and seating.
  • Cultural significance: Tuareg mats are more than just floor coverings; they are cultural symbols that represent the Tuareg people's nomadic lifestyle, resilience and artistic traditions.
  • Weaving techniques: The intricate weaving techniques used to create Tuareg mats are passed down through generations, ensuring that this ancient craft continues to thrive.
Durability & Versatility
  • Long-lasting: Tuareg mats are incredibly durable and can last for many years with proper care.
  • Weather-resistant: They are naturally resistant to moisture and mildew, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
  • Versatile: A Tuareg mat can be used in a variety of ways — as a floor covering, a wall hanging, or laid over a terrace or under a table.
Environmental Responsibility
  • Sustainable: Tuareg mats are made from natural, renewable materials — reed and leather.
  • Fair trade: By buying a Tuareg mat you are supporting fair trade practices and helping to empower local artisans.
  • Eco-friendly: Tuareg mats are a sustainable alternative to synthetic floor coverings, reducing your environmental impact.
Cleaning Instructions
  • Basic care: Wipe the dust off with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Deeper clean: Every once in a while, wipe your mat with a soft cloth lightly soaked in vegetable oil. This cleans, protects and adds shine.

The story

Hand by hand, piece by piece

We don't simply sell Moroccan rugs. We search for the pieces worth bringing home.

Each carpet is personally selected by Emma, whose African upbringing and years of experience have shaped a deep appreciation for the colours, textures, craftsmanship and character of Moroccan textiles. Over time, that experience has developed into an instinct for recognising the rugs that feel genuinely authentic and special.

Emma searches personally in Morocco, looking beyond trends and mass-produced imitations for vintage pieces with beautiful wool, distinctive character and the subtle irregularities that come from being made by hand.

Every rug is chosen individually, with a discerning eye — so that when you find yours, you know it has been chosen with care.
